Pressure proudly present representatives of some of Irelands biggest and best underground electronic music club nights and record labels
DubCulture has been pushing the sound in Ireland running bass music nights for over four years. In celebration of the success and evolution the sound has achieved, and to satisfy public demand for high quality music, they launched the label ‘DubCulture Records’ in 2008. The aim of the label is to supply the scene with quality music, from top Irish and international producers that share the same attitude and direction.
The label has been a great success with the first release, featuring Crysis and RSD (formerly of Smith and Mighty), selling out completely and the second and third releases nearing the same status now.
DubCulture promotions currently operate monthly nights out of the newly opened Carbon nightclub in Galway and The Pavilion in Cork.
Since 2009 their status as fore-runners in the Irish dubstep scene was recognized when they were asked to curate a dubstep tent at the hugely successful LIFE festival. They again repeated this in 2010 and will be doing so again this year.
Since moving from Galway to Cork in 2008, Rob Dc has spearheaded the now vibrant Cork Dubstep scene, which has grown from handfuls to 100s in a matter of months both by promoting Cork’s DubCulture nights and through his unique and genre bending DJ sets.
One of Ireland’s most respected bass music Djs, he has performed all over the country, at the Body&Soul, Life and Bump! festivals this summer and supported the biggest names in dubstep such as RSD, Cluekid, Caspa, Loefah, Distance Pinch Youngsta…the list goes on.
He continues to promote DubCulture events in Cork, which remain very popular and have recently moved to Cork’s premier music venue, The Pavilion.
His DJ sets blend elements of all contemporary electronic bass music but are centered around a dubstep theme. Always fresh and challenging in nature, sometimes deep and demanding, sometimes tinged with memories of acid rave-ups gone by, but always engaging. you can check out some of his mixes here:

Lakker: Ian McDonnell (also known as Eomac) and Dara Smith are Lakker, one of Irelands longest running electronic duo’s. In the past their sound has varied from heavy rave and breakcore, to almost ambient electronica, or dark industrial sludgey dub. They have skillfully honed their sound to the Lakker of today, and things are going well for them. New releases are on the cards, and recently major acts such as Aphex Twin have been dropping Lakker tunes in their sets (Aphex played not one but three Lakker tunes in Ireland recently!) Check out this live/dj set of theirs at !Kaboogie while supporting Lorn last year….. http://www.kaboogie.net/audio/item/lakker-live-dj-set-at-the-k-club-august-19th-2010

!Kaboogie DJs !Kaboogie started throwing parties in January 2006 due to a certain absence of nasty BASS driven skanking on the dub axis in Dublin. We run regular club nights in Dublin and propagate Irish djs and producers work through our label and this site.
We bring over artists, old and new, that we believe are doing something special or unique in their chosen genre. The common ground is BASS heaviness and jump-up excitement.
But more importantly we try and encourage home-grown Irish dj and production talent
Plus support from the Pressure dj’s
Doors open at 9.30pm
£5 on the door all night
Drinks promos all night, £2 for selected beers and spirits
