Mad EP - !kaboogie @ DEAF FESTIVAL 2008

MAD EP

Foggy Notions and !kaboogie are teaming up to present the Dublin debut of MAD EP for this year's DEAF. Canadian Matthew Pears has worked variously as a cellist, radio producer, found sound artist and designer. A founding member of the Manhattan Gimp Project, one half of the hip-hop duo Mad/EQ and resident sound designer for the Psychasthenia Society, his idiosyncratic sound draws inspiration equally from hiphop, jungle, classical and glitch. With his recent releases on Ad Noiseam turning heads, he also has an EP forthcoming on Belfast's Acroplane net label.

Ebola - !kaboogie @ DEAF FESTIVAL 2008

EBOLA

Continuing to sidestep genres, Ebola's highly regarded live sets have demonstrated his unconventional take on breakcore, gabber, noise, and most recently dubstep, with his Mutant Dubstep Volume 1. His recent hour-long mix Formaldehyde Blunts Volume 1 is free to download and is a great perfect introduction to his starting unique style.

Point B !kaboogie 2008

Point B

Point B is the creation of Merseyside-born Richard Bultitude. Years in the making, the Point B sound oscillates between warm electronic and tougher bass-driven tracks and his more recent absorption of the rhythms of Brixton and South London his seen his sound evolve into a dubstep / garage / electro hybrid. Plaudits for his debut album (released on SCSI in 2006) have seen Point B secure support dates for the likes of Andrew Weatherall and Tipper, and perform across Europe, from Brussels to Barcelona.

King Cannibal (rag&bone/combat/ninja tune)
Ed Devane (mantrap) - ALBUM LAUNCH

King Cannibal !kaboogie 2008

King Cannibal

Dylan Richards began working on his own brand of super-evolved mixes towards the latter end of the nineties under the alias ZILLA, gaining acclaim for his innovative and subversive styles. Under the King Cannibal moniker, he has been producing some of the darkest most violent monsters swimming in the south london pools of sub frequencies. this boys tunes are ferocious mashes of mutant industrial bass and savage machine fire breaks shrouded in nightmare atmospherics.

2008's been a big year due to massive radio support in the form of the recent Scorn Vs King Cannibal Soundclash Special and Aragami Style receiving HEAVY rotation both on Mary Anne Hobb's Radio 1 show , planned collaberations with Bong-Ra, remixes for Ghislain Poirier and Ebola a number of releases for Combat Recordings (including Scorn and Komonazmuk remixes) the debut EP on Bong Ra's Kriss Records entitled 'Devil In The Dancehall' and an appearance at Scotland's Triptych festival.

Ed Devane !kaboogie 2008

Ed Devane

Ed Devane's mission-statement is to create the kind of music that invokes "paranoia, fear and claustrophobia in the listener". A proper badman producer the last ten years, tracks are sculpted from field recordings and sounds captured, tortured and mutated during sessions on his home-made guitar (check the link below). Every single track is created from scratch, 100% original. As well as tougher, beat-orientated business, Ed also creates noisescape pieces, as well as being a key part of Dublin-based improvisational group, John Mary Trilogy.

Dancefloors have been pummeled with his releases on Spacebar Sentiments, Touchin Bass, Kontakte and Takeover Records. More recently he was fetaured on Dublin's own Mantrap imprint, to great acclaim, and will be launching his spanking new album also on MANTrAP at the gig.
