SECRET WARS EURO LEAGUE BEGINS feat. Guest Kaboogie DJ’s
Secret Wars began back in 2006, it was small, and intimate yet had the potential to be so much more. Years of hard work, dedication and a strong following has meant Secret Wars has pushed the boundaries and raised the bar for artists and promoters alike.
It’s all culminated to this, present day, present time…....... 16 European locations? The SECRET WARS EURO LEAGUE has finally arrived!
Boasting a range of cities including London, Lisbon, Berlin, Copenhagen, Dublin, Barcelona and many more proves that everyone wants a piece of this groundbreaking and award-winning event.
Copenhagen are coming to Dublin to battle our artists in our first competitive art battle. 3 artists against 3!! 90 minutes on the clock, black edding markers on the white wall. 2 judges vote and a crowd vote will determine the winner.
More importantly lets show the Danes what Dublin is all about and give them a night they will never forget. I hear they’re not gonna leave quietly, so come down and show your support. Our crew are packing skill so its gonna be a mighty fine battle. Dublin team is Mick Minogue, Frizelle and Redmonk.
All this takes place back in The Bernard Shaw and kicks off @ 8pm. Guest Kaboogie DJ’s will be spinning throughout the night to keep you folks grooving. OH did I mention it’s FREE IN.

Ed Devane [Live]
Kachanski [Live]
Thatboytim
Eomac
Noid The Droid

Following the mentalism of Forshaw, Mustard Gunn and Redmonk (pictures here), next up we’re returning to The Underground @ Kennedy’s for more of the same. It marks the launch of Ed Devane’s album ‘Molten Membrane’, which we’re really charged up about! Ed is a supreme talent, and has appeared on a plethora of edgy bass-enthused labels like Touchin’ Bass, Spacebar Sentiments, !Kaboogie and Mantrap Recordings – the latter being home to this, his debut longplayer.
Joining Ed on stage for parts of his set will be Scurvy Lass, who has contributed to three of the tracks on the album, providing some of its most memorable moments. Also phattening up the lineup are Kachanski (live), Thatboytim, Eomac and Noid The Droid. Doors are at 10.30pm, admission is €10, and we’re also throwing in a free copy of the cd album (a month in advance of its full release!) for your troubles.

Based on the feedback that his first all-Irish mix got a few months back, Eomac went ahead and did another one. It’s been picked up by Scan One (who we had over in September wreckin the gaff) for his excellent Lost Tapes show on ILL FM.
Tune in at http://www.illfm.net on the 2nd March, from 8-10pm to hear Eomac’s mix for The Lost Tapes (23rd in the series!). Expect to hear exclusives from the likes of Sarsparilla, Cignol, Automatic Tasty, The Last Sound, Shane O’Donovan, Spectac, Solen, Euphiophone, T-Woc, Eomac, Taper Jinx, T-Polar, Bluefood, 16 Hertz, A-Force, The Banker, Teishi-1, Fran Hartnett, John Dalton ,Ed Devane, Herv, Prince Kong, Cameo, Ventolyn & Becotyde and Lakker.

Redmonk’s new mix, ‘Bye Bye Babylon’, will be getting an exclusive first play on 2FM’s Late Night Sessions in the wee hours of Friday 12th February at 2AM (which is technically Saturday, but there ye go).
Chock full of forthcoming and unreleased material, it’s a mashup of electro, bassline, dubstep, reggae and full-on ravey gravy from beyond the realms of sensible dance moves. Expect to hear bass nuggets from the likes of Ed Devane, Electromeca, 16 Hertz, T-Woc and Kansas City Prophets.

Earwiggle presents…
Saturday, February 6th, 2010
The Underground @ Kennedy’s, Westland Row, Dublin 2
Michael Forshaw [Live] (Chan ‘n’ Mikes - Blackpool)
DJ Mustard Gunn (Coin Operated - London)
Redmonk (!Kaboogie - Dublin)
Doors: 10.30pm
Admission: €10
After a memorable debut event at last October’s DEAF, we decided that we couldn’t just leave it there – and moving to the smaller, sweatier surroundings of The Underground @ Kennedy’s for our next gig, we welcome Michael Forshaw and DJ Mustard Gunn as our international guests on February 6th.
Michael Forshaw is a legend in his field. His label Chan ‘n’ Mikes has fashioned some of the craziest techno and electro of the last ten or so years - track and release titles like ‘I Love Horses’, ‘Cheerleaders’ or ‘Boyzone Make Me Wanna Smoke Crack’ have always demonstrated his humorous approach, but it’s the ruthless nature of his production that has set him apart. This is a long overdue return for Forshaw to play live in Dublin and a perfect way to kick off 2010 for us.
Making his Irish debut on the night is Coin Operated label head DJ Mustard Gunn. Coin Operated has been one of the best new labels of the last few years – showcasing a daring mix of UK bass styles from producers like Kanji Kinetic, The Squires Of Gothos, 3d!t, Spaceface and many others… with a friendly nod to the old skool. Mustard Gunn knows how to tear up the club and that’s exactly what he’s going to do when he gets here.
Completing the lineup is Redmonk, one of the craftiest DJs in the Dublin area, as well as one of the masterminds behind the !Kaboogie collective, who have recently been pushing some sick new slabs of black plastic by some of the city’s best and most depraved producers.
Doors to The Underground @ Kennedy’s are at 10.30pm, with admission being a cool €10.
